The Discovery Center, designed by ATI, has been awarded Adaptive Reuse Project of the Year for its visionary transformation of an existing site into a vibrant hub for early childhood learning. Thoughtfully redeveloped to meet the needs of today’s digital generation, the centre blends interactive technology with tactile experiences, supporting cognitive and sensory development through play-based learning. Featuring age specific galleries, indoor-outdoor play zones, and inclusive family amenities, the design encourages children and adults to explore, learn, and engage together. Even the façade becomes part of the experience, with integrated play elements that extend learning beyond the interior. The result is a holistic, future-ready space that redefines how architecture can nurture discovery, creativity, and connection across generations.
